Robert “Bob” Floring, 68, of Leesburg passed away September 20, 2009 at Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born August 2, 1941 in Lagrange to the late George and Doris (Anderson) Floring. on March 1, 1986 he married Nancy Adams who survives.
Bob was a 1960 graduate of South Bend Central High School; he attended the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. After graduating he worked in the funeral service before becoming Sheriff of Lagrange County where he served from 1971-1974. Bob was a charter member of Lagrange Moose, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Mesick, Mi, and the Scottish Right. He was retired and most recently worked for Allied Security at Depuy in Warsaw. Bob was a loving person and never knew a stranger. He loved playing golf, participating in the annual cancer golf outing. He enjoyed riding his john deere tractor and visiting with friends and neighbors. He spent many Saturday afternoons supporting his beloved Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. But most of all, Bob loved spending time on the lake with his wife of 23 years and Heidi, his loving dog.
Bob is Survived by his wife of 23 years, Nancy, a daughter, Diane Floring, Beach Grove, IN, a brother, Bill (Joanne) Floring, Minnetonka, MN and two grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jim.
Services will be Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 10:30 am at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 3-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford
Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
