Evelyn L. Cramar

Evelyn L. Cramar, age 82, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on January 16, 1924, in Etna Township, Whitley County, Indiana, to Paul & Iva (Erne) McElroy.

On November 20, 1942, she married Gerald E. Cramar. He preceded her in death in 1989.

A lifelong area resident, Evelyn worked for Liberty Homes in the office and she retired from Chore-Time Brock, where she worked in the office. She was a member of the Saint Andrews United Methodist Church and she was involved in several social circles. Evelyn was the past President of the United Methodist Women's Club. A Worthy Matron, Order of the Eastern Star. She was involved in the Junior Mothers Club of Syracuse. She was also a 1942 graduate of Columbia City High School and a 1961 graduate of Ravenscroft Beauty School. She was a volunteer for Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Vicki J. Bloom of Richmond, Virginia, and Maria A (Robert) Hiney of Syracuse. 3 grandchildren: Lawrence G. (Toni) Simon of Orrville, Ohio; Lisa M. (Eric) Owen of Richmond, Virginia; Tricia J. (Sam) Ford of Richmond, Virginia; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Marciel A. (Robert) Whittier, Sun City, California; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald and Ronald L. Cramar, her son.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2006, at 1:00PM at the South Park Cemetery in Columbia City. Pastor Brad Cox will officiate. No visitation is planned.

Memorials may be given to the Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice.
