Dorothea Helen (Shrock) Littler

Dorothea Helen (Shrock) Littler, of Plainfield, IN, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 10:30AM; she was 92 years of age.

Dorothea was born on February 24, 1914, in Waupecong, Indiana, (Miama County)to the late Andrew and Stella (Glassburn) Shrock. Dorothea was married to Donald Elbert Littler on June 10, 1934, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1990.

Dorothea was Deaconess License of Saint Joseph Conference of the United Brethren Church - 1946, Graduate of Sherwood School of Music, Chicago, IL - 1932, she taught violin in Bunker Hill, Miami and Bennetts Switch Schools, she was an accomplished violinist and a Pastor's wife in the United Methodist Church for 33 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents Andrew & Stella Shrock, 3 Sisters: Miriam Rody, Cleta Shrock, and Virginia Shrock, and 2 Brothers: Dr. Robert R. Shrock and Dr. Ethan E. Shrock.

She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Sandra Joy (Robert) Hellwege of New Haven, IN and Alma Sue (Gilbert) Farmer of Plainfield, IN and 1 Son: John (Gail) Littler of Green Valley, AZ, 7 Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren and 1 Sister: Evelyn Lavrenz of Plainfield, IN.

Services for Mrs. Littler will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse, Pastor David Marty officiating. Friends may call from 9:00AM - 11:00AM on Thursday, July 13th at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse.
