Dorothy Spicer, age 79, of North Webster, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006, at the Sunrise Assisted Living in Ft. Wayne. She was born on December 18, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, to Joseph M. & Maria (Assmuth) Gingell.
On August 31, 1946, she married George "Ed" Spicer. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2004.
Dorothy moved to North Webster in 1977 and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Shepherd By the Lakes Lutheran Church in Syracuse, North Webster American Legion Auxiliary, Syracuse VFW Auxiliary, she volunteered at the Kosciusko Community Hospital for many years.
Survivors include 1 daughter: Judith Ann Spicer of Jacksonville, NC; 2 sons: Michael Wayne (Deborah) Spicer of Hartwell, Georgia, and Joseph Edward (Lysa) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George "Ed" Spicer.
Services will be held Friday, July 21, 2006, at 10:00AM at the Shepherd By the Lakes Lutheran Church, 7449 E 100 N., Syracuse. Pastor Raymond Mueller will officiate. Graveside services will take place 3:00PM on Friday at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana. Friends may call Thursday, July 20, 2006, 4:00-8:00PM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse.
Memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana or the Shepherd By the Lakes Lutheran Church.
