Melvin W. Tener

Melvin W. Tener, age 75, of Bremen, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at the Community Hospital of Bremen. He was born on April 13, 1931, in South Bend, to Ralph and Bessie (Heckaman) Tener.

On July 25, 1953, he married Dorothy Andrews.

A lifelong area resident, Melvin worked as a grinder for Bremen Foundry, Universal, Bremen and Millers Bearings. He retired from Brunswick Marine in Nappanee in 1993. He was a former member of the 1st Assembly of God and is a member of the Bremen VFW.

Surivors include his wife, Dorothy Tener, 1 daughter: Kathy (Jerry) Michalski of South Bend, 1 brother: Charles Tener of Bourbon. 2 grandsons: Brandon (Diana) Odiorne of Plymouth and Derek (Brook) Michalski of South Bend. 3 step-grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Lowell Tener and Richard Tener.

Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 18, 2006, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Tom Padberg will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00PM on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Marshall County Hospice.
