Josephine G. Barker

Josephine G. Barker, age 84, of Bremen, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born on August 1, 1922, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to John & Amanda Phyllis (Kroll) Paulson.

On August 10, 1968, she married Frank Barker in South Bend. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1989.

Josephine resided in Waukegan, Illinois, and Bremen. She helped with her husband's business and was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Bremen. Josephine loved cooking Sunday dinners and spending time with family. She was famous for her animal-shaped pancakes. Bremen Health Care Center truly was her home and she loved them all deeply.

Survivors include 2 Sons: Bill (Barb) Welch of Vienna, Illinois, Robert (Susan) Welch of Orlando, Florida, 1 Daughter: Sue (Bob) Hickman of Bremen, 7 Grandchildren: Steve, Jeff and Todd Welch, Megan Welch, Molly Bittick, Kevin Hickman, Kim Sellers and 13 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006, at 10:30AM, at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Father Polycarp Fernando will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Mishler Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bremen Health Care Center of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
