Dorothy L. Pollock Rickel, 91, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on March 23, 1915, in Albion, Indiana, to Ernest & Lottie (Heron) Weeks.
On July 16, 1932, she married Harold Pollock. He preceded her in death in 1966. On June 25, 1977, she married Forrest R. Rickel. He preceded in 1989.
A Homemaker, Dorothy moved to Syracuse in 1947 from Elkhart. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, and for several years, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Goshen.
Survivors include 1 Son: Paul (Marlene) Pollock of Syracuse, 2 Grandchildren: Doug Pollock of Syracuse and Ron (Tracy) Pollock of Syracuse, 3 Great Grandchildren: Katie, Kelly and Krystal of Syracuse. 2 Sisters: Ruth (Kenny) Conkling of Sherman, TX, and Emmy (Dutch) Kosteilney of Avilla, IN, 4 Brothers: Robert (Carole) Weeks of LaPorte, IN, and Bill (Barb) Weeks of Albion, Don (Sue) Weeks of Eaton, IN, and Richard (Joan) Weeks of Walcott, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her husband Forrest, 1 Sister and 2 Brothers.
Services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 1:30PM at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. Pastor David Herr will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Indiana. Friends may call on Thursday, February 1, 2007, prior to services, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 801 S. Huntington Street, Syracuse, Indiana 46567, from 9-11AM and 12:30-1:30PM.
