Betty A. Kauffman

Betty Kauffman, 60, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at the Methodist Hospital of Merrillville, Indiana. She was born on January 11, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kurpinski.

On October 5, 1963, she married Cecil Kauffman. He survives.

Betty moved to the area in 1971 from Rochester, Michigan. A Homemaker, she also drove a school bus for the local school district in Michigan as well as Fairfield Community Schools. She was also a member of the Eagles of Syracuse. Betty volunteered for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, establishing the Book-a-thon Fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis of Elkhart County.

Survivors include her Husband: Cecil R. Kauffman of Syracuse, 1 Daughter: Angie (Gary) Stuckman of Syracuse, 1 Son: Don (Mendy) Kauffman of Modoc, IN, 1 Sister: Jerry Vincent of Michigan, 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister: Mary Sedwick.

Services will be held Monday, February 19, 2007, at 11:00AM at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse. Pastor Brad Cox will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, February 18, 2007, from 2-5PM at the funeral home.
