James R. Lupke, Sr.

May 2, 1936 — February 21, 2007

James Richard Lupke, Sr., 70, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1936, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Harry H. & Rosena (Gutman) Lupke.

James moved to the Syracuse area in the 1980’s from Fort Wayne and worked at Zollner Pistons in Fort Wayne as a Machinist, prior to this he served his country in the Army. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, he was a member of the Eagles in Syracuse and he enjoyed bowling and fishing, most importantly he was a great Father and a loving Grandfather.

Survivors include 2 Sons: James (Michelle) Lupke, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Jeff Lupke of Syracuse, 1 Brother: Tom (Jan) Lupke of Indianapolis, 2 Sisters: Joanne (Stan) Miller of Indianapolis and Rosalyn (Bob) Bierman of Texas, 1 Granddaughter: Jessica Rose Lupke of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by His parents and 2 infant children.

Services will be held Monday, February 26, 2007, at 10:30AM at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, in Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be at the Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, February 25, 2007, 1-4 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the Syracuse American Legion.
