Garnette Jennings

Garnette Jennings, 78, of Bremen, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2007, at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born on October 27, 1928, in St. Paul, Virginia.

She married John A. Simmons. He preceded her in death.

Before moving to the area in 1987, Garnette lived in Lynchburg, VA. She was the Owner and Operator of Farmer John's Markets in Virginia. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Bremen and received her nursing degree from Lynchburg General Hospital.

Survivors include 1 Son: John (Cindy) Simmons of Bremen, 1 Daughter: Phyllis Weaver of Hickory, NC, 2 Granddaughters: Marti Vance and Victoria Simmons, both of South Bend and 1 Great Granddaughter: Brianna Vance. She was preceded in death by 6 Sisters and 2 Brothers.

Services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 3:00PM at the First Baptist Church, 414 E. Lincoln Street, Bremen, IN, with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will occur at the Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, VA. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marshall County or the First Baptist Church in Bremen.
