Allan R. Suttor

Allan (Al) R. Suttor, 93, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in his home.  He was born on April 6, 1932 in Paulding, OH, the son of the late Edward and Matilda (Metzger) Suttor.  On November 9, 1952 in Milford, IN, he married Verla Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years; five children: Steven (Jane) Suttor of Peoria, IL, Allan Suttor of Frederick, CO, Douglas (Nan) Suttor of Punta Gorda, FL, Laura (Larry) Pratt of Bremen and Jeffrey (Rhonda) Suttor of New Carlisle; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two siblings: Edward Suttor of Bremen and Evelyn Hangartner of Roanoke, IL. Al had many passions in his life.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed bike riding on his recumbent bike.  He and his older brother, Ed, were looking forward to nicer weather so they could get out on their bikes.  Al was an Army veteran, a Fuller Brush man and a member of the Gideons International, Nappanee Camp.  He retired from his lawn care company, Turf Tenders, in Bremen.  Al loved people and never knew a stranger.  He loved sharing his faith in Jesus and even in his final days was inviting new friends to join him at church.  Al and Verla attended Bremen Bible Church for many years and most recently attended New Carlisle Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Monday, April 14, 2025 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, Monday in the funeral home.  Pastor Duane Beals, Pastor Don Bayne and Pastor Andrew Pratt will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
