Barbara J. Jones, 61, of Bremen, passed away at 7:17 pm, Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in IU Health Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis. Barb was born on September 27, 1957 in Bremen, the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Ewalt) Karwatka. On April 3, 1976, she married Ted Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Ted; four children, Cara (Ben) Rhoades of Indianapolis, Aaron (Sheila) Jones of South Bend, Rachel (Aaron) Jacobs of Ft. Wayne and Mason (Kristin) Jones of Middlebury; and four grandchildren, Eva, Eleanor, Natalie, and Makenna. She is also survived by two siblings, Margaret Karwatka of Plymouth and Edward Karwatka Noblesville. Barbara was born and raised in Bremen, Indiana and graduated from Bremen High School in 1975. She deeply loved the Lord, spending time with her family, traveling, arranging her flower gardens, cooking, decorating and sewing. She served in various ministries at her home church including Deacon’s wife, Vacation Bible School, children’s Sunday school and Director of Children’s Ministries, and women’s Bible study leader. She also sat on the Bremen Holy Walk Steering Committee and was a guide for many years and participated as a costumed volunteer for many years. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many on this earth but is rejoicing fully healed in the arms of her Savior until we are united in Heaven. Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 15, 2018 in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Rd., Bremen, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Kurt Litwiller will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions to be made to the Children’s Ministry of Bremen Missionary Church.
