Barbara Siefer

Barbara Siefer, 87, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Wakarusa. In the face of her illness, she never lost her humor, wry smile, and her joy in being surrounded by her loving and devoted husband, her children and their spouses, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barb was born on August 8, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Lusk) Mummey. Barb was a lifetime Bremen resident and graduated from Bremen High School in 1949. On November 20, 1949, she married the love of her life, Rulo Siefer. She modeled her caring spirit and kindness through 20 years of service to her community as the Bremen Elementary School secretary. Her hobbies included cooking, entertaining, caring for her family and palling around with her best friend, Rulo. Barb is survived by her husband, Rulo of Bremen; three children, Becky (Pam Chipman) Siefer of Mancos, CO, John (Karol) Siefer of Indianapolis, and Mike (Christie) Siefer of Bremen; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Mummey of Gig Harbor, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy Farrer and brother, Mac. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 16, 2018, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 pm in the funeral home. Pastor Nathan Rosentrater will officiate. Burial will be held privately in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Church of Christ, 323 S.
