Bill L. Fisher, 68, lifetime area farmer, was welcomed into his heavenly home on July 4, 2018 after a six year struggle and complications from Aplastic Anemia. He was born on February 25, 1950 in Bremen to Hershel and Pearl Lavern (Young) Fisher. Bill graduated from Triton High School, Bourbon, in 1968 and was active in FFA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, serving stateside. Bill returned home to help his dad on the family farm. He loved farming and all of his tractors were green and yellow! Bill raised hogs for 40 years and continued to grain farm until he was no longer able, retiring in 2017. Grandpa enjoyed giving his grandkids tractor rides and instilled in them his love of John Deere. Bill was a quiet man and strove to be a godly testimony through his actions, as well as, his words. His love for the Lord was evident as he cared for his family and as he fought his illness. He was the last founding member, still in attendance, of Antioch Baptist Church, Rochester, IN. Bill married Diana (Blanchard) Rhodes on July 4, 1998 in Nappanee. Bill and Diana celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary surrounded by loved ones. Bill is survived by his wife, Diana; a daughter, Gabrielle (Bryan) Turner; three sons, Nathaniel (Kim) Fisher, Benjamin (Emily) Fisher, and Jeremiah (Heather) Fisher; three step-daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Penrose, Christy Geyer, and Lauren Corwin; and a step-son, Andrew Rhodes; as well as 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn (George) Reed and Donna (Larry) Lemler. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, an unborn child, his sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Lee Thomas and their son, Keith. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, July 9, 2018 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior. Pastors Jerry Pitman and David Stackhouse will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery with full military honors.
