Bobby Southard

Bobby E. Southard, 94, currently of Wakarusa, passed away at 4:15 pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Miller’s Merry Manor of Wakarusa. Bob was born on May 11, 1923, the son of Harold and Edna (Burkdull) Southard. On July 7, 1944, he married Alice “Marie” Fox. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marie; three children, Alana Lambourn of Island Lake, IL, Melonia (Jim) Russell of Bremen and Rodney (Faith) Southard of Barrington, IL; eight grandchildren, Laura (Tom) Campanella, Sarah (Mark) Drake, Michael (Lauren) Lambourn, Jeremy (Laurie) Russell, Jason (Jennifer) Russell, Jenna (Ed) Maanum, Scott Southard, and Mary Beth (Jason) Moore; 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Billy Southard of Anderson, IN. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked as a salesman for the Allis-Chalmers for many years before his retirement. He was a beloved and baptized child of God and is now at home with Jesus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Military Honors will follow the service at the church. He will be buried in Marion National Cemetery.
