Brad V. Erickson

November 3, 1961 — January 28, 2025

Brad V. Erickson, 63, of Bremen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in his home.  Born on November 3, 1961, in Hammond, IN, Brad lived a life of service and faith. Brad had a deep love for his country, serving as a paratrooper and jump instructor in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army, instilling discipline and courage in those he trained.  After his time in the military was over, his dedication to service extended through his work with the Feed the Hungry organization, where he played a vital role in disaster relief efforts, as well as in stocking food banks and sharing his love for Christ with those in need. Brad’s faith was the foundation of his life.  He had a deep trust in God, finding strength and guidance in his relationship with Christ.  He spent much of his free time reading and studying scripture – not just for knowledge, but to apply it to his daily life.  He loved sharing his faith and encouraging others in their walks with God.  Whether through his actions, his generosity, or his words, he sought to live out his faith with humility and love.  His kindness and generosity were evident in the way he cared for his family – his wife, his mother, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, his children, and his grandchildren – and through his position at the funeral home, where he sought to provide comfort to others in their times of grief. Brad was a man of many passions.  He loved music, especially playing the drums.  He also enjoyed working in the yard and tackling home projects, finding great joy in working with his hands.  One recent accomplishment was the in-ground pool and surrounding deck that he built himself, a testament to his craftsmanship, determination, and ability to turn vision into reality.  He was also a talented cook, one who especially enjoyed preparing holiday feasts for the whole family to enjoy!  When he wasn’t busying himself with a project or whipping something up in the kitchen, he could often be found out by the water with a fishing rod in hand.  Finally, he had a real soft spot for animals – especially his beloved dog Susie, who was never far from his side. Brad is survived by his loving wife, Pam; children Loribeth (Chris) Grunder, Erica Erickson, Hali (Josh) Greenlee, Zach Dumph, Rebecca (Max) Baker; grandchildren Angel Rolfe, Christian Grunder, Kayla Villegas, Olivia Froelich, Aiden Greenlee, Jackson Greenlee, James Baker, Bodie Baker, Isla Baker, and Kennedy Dumph; mother Dorothy Harper; and siblings Anna Sadler, Judi (Darren) Serhal, Kathy (Rick) Clement, Matthew Shook, and Tim (Tomi) Collier. Visitation will be held from 9:00–11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Neil Wonnacott. Mausoleum entombment will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marshall County Humane Society, 11165 13th Rd. Plymouth, IN 46563.  Brad’s legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
