Burton L. Manges, 91, of Bremen passed away at 4:01 pm, Monday, November 1, 2021 in Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Burton was born on October 6, 1930 in Wyatt, IN to the late Dillman and Minna E. (Schutz) Manges. He met and married Janet R. Hepler on April 28, 1957 in Goshen, IN by his uncle, Warren Manges. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Janet; three sons, Bryan D. Manges of Allen, TX, Kevin E. Manges of Bremen and Andy J. (Kristine) Manges of Bremen and three granddaughters, Ashley, Andrea and Alicia Manges. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Leona Holdread, Lorrain Leazenby and Carole Koontz and four brothers, Wayne, Dean, Evan and Don Manges. Burt was a graduate of the 1948 Bremen High School class. He retired from 7-UP Bottling Company, South Bend and was a member of the Teamsters Union 364. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on March 4, 1957. He volunteered for many years at Signature Health Care in Bremen and started a card club there. He enjoyed playing Euchre at the VFW and was a member of the senior bowling league at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend. He enjoyed gardening, mowing his yard and giving away his produce. Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be given to the VFW Post 8972, 1750 Plymouth St, Bremen, IN 46506
