Charlene Fay Beery, 85, of Bremen, IN passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025 in Bremen. She was born on January 17, 1940 in Mishawaka, IN. Charlene demonstrated a lifelong commitment to education and community service. A proud graduate of Bremen Public School, she earned the distinction of Salutatorian of her class. She continued her academic journey at IU of South Bend, where she completed undergraduate studies and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education. Charlene dedicated her life not only to learning, but also to giving back. Her professional accomplishments and tireless volunteerism were recognized with numerous honors throughout her life. In 2019, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bremen Chamber of Commerce for her outstanding contributions to the people and business community of Bremen. She was also inducted into the Hall of Fame by Signature Healthcare in recognition of her volunteer work, academic excellence, and professional achievements. Her passion for service extended deeply into her personal life. She was a devoted Campfire leader and participated actively in the Holy Walk, Hospital Auxiliary and many more. One of her cherished past times was quilting- an art she practiced with love along side friends from her church. She generously shared this skill with others, teaching them how to create quilts and Afghan’s that were given away as heartfelt gifts, a tradition that continues through those she taught. Moms’ legacy lives on through her daughters: Kim Dunning and Gina Beery and son Shawn Beery. She is also remembered by her step sister: Marylou Wagner. She was preceded, in death by her son: Richard Beery, husband: Alvin Beery and step sister: Nancy Thomas. She also had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Moms’ life was one marked by unwavering commitment to bettering the lives of those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 10:30-1:00 pm, Monday, December 1, 2025 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services begin at 1:00 pm, Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Jon Hueni to officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions to be made to Alzheimer’s Association at donorservices.alz.org
