Cheryl K. Bellman, 78, of Bremen, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on December 2, 1947 in Bremen to Aurthur, Jr and Dorothy (Hanshew) Hardy. On August 7, 1965, she married James W. Bellman in Bremen Baptist Church. He passed away on March 10, 2026.

She is survived by three children: James “Jamie” (Amy) Bellman, Bryan (Kristin) Bellman and Kari Bellman, all of Bremen; six grandchildren: Carson (Bess) Bellman of San Diego, CA, Claire (Colton) Story of Danville, IL, Cannon Bellman of Bremen, Madelyn Bellman of Bremen, Laney Bellman of Bremen, and Morgan (Ian Shriner) Smith of Bremen and two great grandchildren: Braxton and Wrenley Shriner. She is also survived by a stepmother: Dolores Hardy of Mishawaka, sister: Vicki Maust of South Bend and brother: Matt (Marilyn) Hardy of Washington State. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Dennis and David Hardy.

She loved the Lord and her family beyond words. Cherie has always been very involved in Bremen Missionary Church where she played piano for several years. Always first to volunteer to help others in any way possible. She was never one to be in the public eye, yet always the one behind the scenes to make certain things went as perfectly as possible. This same approach carried over to their success of Bellman Oil Co. that she co-founded with her husband, Jim.

In her spare time, she made it a point to never miss an event of her children or grandchildren. She was always willing to share her love of music and singing with all of the kids. When one of them took an interest, Grandma was the biggest supporter.

She always took great pride in her home and her landscaping which carried over to her second home in Florida. Here is where she fell in love with searching and collecting sea shells and long boat rides with her family. She and Jim became experts in finding dolphins and learning how to get them to follow along on their boat rides.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Rd., Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Bremen Missionary Church with Pastor Kurt Litwiller officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
