Dennis Harold Fox

November 28, 1947 — December 10, 2022

Dennis Harold Fox, 75, of Bremen, passed away at 7:42 pm, Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Goshen Hospital. Dennis was born on November 28, 1947, the son of the late Harold and Evelyn (Schlemmer) Fox, Jr. He is survived by his life partner, Alyce Evans of Bremen; three children, Dennis Craig (Kris Keszei) Fox of Granger, Jeffrey Michael (Jackie) Fox of South Bend and Jessica Ann (Robert) Kauffman of Granger and five grandchildren, Isabel, Willow, Ebba, Emersyn and Jordan. He is also survived by three siblings, Elaine (Steve) Klapp of Bremen, Cheryl (Jim) Stull of Plymouth and Bryan (Kim) Fox of New Paris. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter in law, Alison Fox. Dennis retired from NIPSCO after 38 years of service. He was loved by all for his compassion and giving spirit. He was a courageous man. Not only for his military service, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and was a member of the burial squad, but also for his warrior spirit. Even though he fought cancer for much of his golden years, he never stopped doing the things he loved most. Dennis was a man of the arts. He could be found rocking out at a concert or with a paintbrush in hand, creating uniquely beautiful works of art. His love for music went beyond concert going. He also attempted to play multiple instruments, including the drums and the piano. His artistic ability also extended to acting, where he acted in various movies and plays in the area. Dennis very much enjoyed sports and proudly supported his sons swim teams over many years. He also spent many nights at the softball diamond watching his stepdaughter play softball. He loved all four of his granddaughters and grandson and supported them as much as he possibly could. In the summer you would find him at every South Bend Cubs game. When the leaves started to change, he would be found cheering on Notre Dame Football at the stadium. Later in life Dennis met his life partner, Alyce, and they began traveling the world together. His favorite vacation spot was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The two liked to learn new things together and took dance lesson for many years. They loved spending time together and would spend many evenings driving in the convertible to the soda shop for a burger and a root beer float. Another favorite activity was attending art fairs and festivals. Dennis had a huge heart for people but it was especially soft for animals. He had many pets throughout his life and most recently, his two dogs Kookie and Teddy, were always by his side. The trio was often found napping together on the couch. The family will be having a private burial of his ashes at the Bremen Cemetery and celebration of his life at a later date. Dennis would like all memorials in his name to be given to the Marshall County Humane Society, 11165 13th Rd, Plymouth, IN 46563 or any small animal rescue.
