Donald Leon Dutoi, 95, residing in Mishawaka, went to be with the lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 at 8:15 am. Don was born on October 8, 1929 in Bremen to the late Leon and Vera (Ritchey) Dutoi. In 2000 he met Sheila Hardy and they have been inseparable since; also surviving are her children: Karen Troxel of Pheonix, AZ and Marcia (Joe) Hunter of South Bend; grandchildren: Danielle Aguilar and Shaina Hunter; sister: Helen Balsley of Bremen; sister-in-law: Kathy Dutoi of Bremen and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Nancy (McGowen) Dutoi; daughter: Ann Marie Dutoi; siblings: Mary Lou Stine, Eugene Dutoi and Janice Dutoi; and Sheila's son Bruce Hardy, Jr. Don graduated from Bremen High School in 1947. He entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. He worked as a mechanic for Whiteford Kenworth for many years before retiring in 2002 at the age of 70. He collected antique gas engines and loved to dance and travel on cruises to the Caribbean, Panama Canal and Hawaii. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Thursday, April 24, 2025 in 1st Baptist Church, 414 E. Lincoln St., Bremen. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm in the church, with Pastor David Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to 1st Baptist Church of Bremen.
