Dorothy L. Lavine

Dorothy Lou LaVine 87 of Delton passed away Friday September 1, 2023. Dorothy was born February 21, 1936 in Mishawaka, IN the daughter of Robert and Isabelle (Ward) Oakley. She worked for Grissom Middle School as a cook in Mishawaka, IN then after moving to Delton she was employed at the Felpausch Supermarket. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hat Society and a stitching group and she enjoyed sewing, fishing and traveling. On January 30, 1953 in Osceola, IN Dorothy was united in marriage to Burnett LaVine who preceded her in death on January 20, 2016. Also preceding her in death are four sisters, Helen McIntyre, Ada Coddens, Betty Oakley, Donna Moran; brother, Richard Oakley. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly (Gary) Robison of Delton, Julee (Patrick) Lo of Oxford; son, Kim (SuzAnn) LaVine of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Mildred Deak; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews including her favorite fishing buddy, Eileen Miller. Graveside services will be held Friday June 21, 2024 at 11:00 am, in the Bremen Cemetery in Bremen, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
