Douglas Victor Rice, 74, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 11:30 am, Friday September 20, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family. Douglas was born on August 31, 1950 in South Bend to the late Victor and Verena Rice. Douglas attended Lakeville High School. In 1991, Douglas married Pamela Edison. Douglas owned his own business Risco. He loved his work, family and had many hobbies that he enjoyed, including attending auctions, collecting antiques, raising bison and birds. He loved playing cards, dominoes and was rarely ever beaten. There was never a dull moment in his company. Douglas is survived by his wife Pamela, sons: Kirk (Stacy) Rice, Joshua (Lisa) Rice, daughter Paige Edison (Yale) Moser, son in law, Joseph Walker; grandchildren: Devin (Rebecca) Rice, Skyler (Ashley) Rice, Shelby Rice, Olivia Rice, Mathew Rice, Grace (Joel) Gee, Luke Rice, Jarrod Walker, and Aubrie Walker. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; sister Bonnie Kelley, brother Jeff Rice. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sandra “Toots” Annis, brothers: Ben Rice, Roger Rice and daughter Shannon Walker. Cremation will take place per his wishes.
