Rev. Earl D. Zeltwanger, 90, of Bremen, went to be with the Lord at 11:55 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2017. Earl was born on August 30, 1927, one of five children born to Carl and Wilhelmina (Laidig) Zeltwanger. On June 8, 1952, in Elgin, IL, he married Marge Haas. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marge of Bremen; seven children: Kay (Dale) Gramm of Bremen, Gayle (Mark) Bailin of New Buffalo, MI, Mark (Shelli) Zeltwanger of Nappanee, Jane (Jim) Stoller of South Bend, Joan (Dr. J.D.) Gonzales of Dallas, TX, Lori Zeltwanger of Sedona, AZ and Paul (Teresa) Zeltwanger of Cincinnati, OH; 19 grandchildren, Kara (Kyle) Schoeler, Andrea (Ryan) Mendlik, Joshua (Courtney) Gramm, Kristel (John) Hanslip, Julie (Andrew) Richard, Heather Bailin, Bryan (Sara) Bailin, Lauren (Jason) Endsley, Amy (Fred) Pope, David (Kara) Zeltwanger, Amanda (Quentin) Phelps, Brandon (Savannah) Stoller, Jeremy Gonzales, Jayden Gonzales, Lazor Lanson, Alyssa (Jeremie) Bourget, Austin Zeltwanger, Lindsey Zeltwanger, and Isaac Zeltwanger, and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Witzig of Morton, IL and his brother, Harold (Marge) Zeltwanger of Mishawaka as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Donald. Earl graduated from Madison High School in 1945. He earned his BS in Agriculture Engineering from Purdue University in 1949 and his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1970. He worked as Plant Manager and Chief Engineer for the Oliver Corporation for 29 years. He then co-founded Wyatt Farm Center and worked until his retirement in 2006. He was an avid golfer, longstanding Purdue and Cubs fan. He pastored Bremen Apostolic Christian Church and Bremen Bible Church for 42 years. Earl was a faithful husband to his dear wife and lived his life with passion and energy for his Lord and Savior. He enthusiastically supported his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. His joy for living overflowed to all he met. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Monday, October 9, 2017 at Community Gospel Church, 68893 St. Rd. 331, Bremen, IN 46506. Funeral services will held be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the church, with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa Dr., #D, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
