Eldon O. Heyde

Eldon Owen Heyde, 97, of Bremen, passed away surrounded by family at 10:42 am, Thursday, August 10, 2023 in his home.  Eldon was born on March 23, 1926 in Mishawaka to Ira and Della (Laudeman) Heyde. On November 10, 1945, he married Eloise Kaufman.  She passed away on September 12, 2022. Eldon is survived by four children; Darla Smith of Warsaw, Devon Heyde of Plymouth, Robin (Lynn) Reynolds of Bremen and Ron (Susan) Heyde of Trenton, GA; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter Janet Heyde. He was raised on the farm and worked from sun up until sun down. He provided for his family and he raised cows and pigs.  He was also able to fix anything.  He was a plummer, electrician, mechanic and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  He took his family to church each week and was very involved in the church. Sunday was a time for family, play and rest. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 18, 2023 in the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior.  Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to House of the Lord Church, 16493 W. Lincoln Hwy, Plymouth, IN 46563.
