Ellen E. Hershberger

Ellen Elaine Hershberger, 85, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 8:05 am, Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Signature Health Care surrounded by family.  Ellen was born on October 15, 1939 in Bremen, the daughter of the late Russell and Louise (Lawson) Schutz.  On July 28, 1957, she married Richard Hershberger.  She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years; four sons: Rick (Sherry) Hershberger of Osceola, Kevin (Christine) Hershberger of Bremen, Tim (Paula) Hershberger of Wakarusa and Jon (Allison) Hershberger of Bremen; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, three siblings: Marilyn Cramer, Fred Schutz and Karen Weiss and two granddaughters: Kristen and Kaylee. Ellen was a member of Bremen United Methodist Church.  She was a secretary for PHM School Corp. for 32 years before retiring in 2004.  She was an avid sports fan.  There were times she had three boys playing baseball at three different locations.  She never missed a game.  She was also a big NASCAR fan.  She enjoyed camping and most important she enjoyed preparing meals for her entire family. She was a loving wife, mother,  and grandmother. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00-12:30 pm, Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.  A celebration of her life will follow at 12:30 pm in the funeral home.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.
