Emily Frenger, or “Emmy” to most, passed Thursday September 29th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on the island of Masbate, Philippines, Emmy’s story began February 26th, 1952; she was 69 years old. She had 7 older siblings; one is still living. Emmy met her husband of 46 years, Richard Frenger, while he was stationed in the Philippines. They fell in love immediately, traveled to the U.S., and got married. Together they had one child, Veronica Berger (married to Matt Berger), and three grandchildren: Genesis Matthews, Elijah Clark, and Brody Berger. Emmy lived in the U.S. for 46 years and never received a speeding ticket. She was the best strawberry-picker, and her family says that if there were a contest she would surely win, though some may come up missing as she would often eat a few along the way. She was a hard worker, extremely stubborn, and touched the lives of many co-workers and friends with her generosity and caring attitude. At one point in time, she had 5 people living under her roof, not including her or her husband. Not to mention, only two of them were family. She spent most of her life staying busy with work, shopping, or spending time with friends and family but took many trips to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan and our western states. Though, to her, there was “no place like home” and she loved coming back and taking a nap on her couch. She will be missed by many. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 7, 2021 in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Rd., Bremen. Pastor Kurt Litwiller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery.
