Evadean Viola (Clindaniel) Hansen, 95, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at Signature Healthcare in Bremen, surrounded by family. Born May 16, 1927, to Dean and Valera (Reed) Clindaniel in Marshall County, Evadean grew up in Nappanee. She graduated with honors from Nappanee High School and was also a drum major for the band. On Nov. 1, 1947, she married her high school sweetheart, Roland Hansen, upon his return from serving his country in Europe during World War II. They celebrated more than 60 years together until his death in 2008. Their union produced four hardworking children, Mike (Joyce) Hansen of Bremen, Curt Hansen of Flint, Michigan, Terry (Pam) Hansen of Bremen, and Deb (Mark) Thompson of Argos; eight grandchildren, Eric (Karen) Hansen of Michigan, Chris (Amber) Hansen of Wakarusa, Kevin Hansen of Bremen, Ian (Erin) Hansen of Plymouth, Jasmine (David) Schwartz of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Becky (Mark) Baker of Maine, Travis Thompson of Argos, and Jessica (Kevin) Scheil of Warsaw, and ten great-grandchildren, William, Rowan, Lexi, Tyler, Weston, Zian, Ryder, Parker, Zeely and Khloe. Evadean was a very loving, caring, patient person, and a housewife who also worked outside the home. She was a keypunch operator for Associates Financial Corp. in South Bend for 20 years and Skyline Corp. in Elkhart after that. Her absolute favorite job was serving as Jim Meister’s “Girl Friday” in the pharmacy at Meister’s Drug and Ben Franklin Store in Bremen for many years until retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Bremen VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Legion. Evadean was an avid bird-watcher, who loved feeding her squirrels, and enjoyed getting away to the family cottage on Dewart Lake near Syracuse. Along with her husband, Rollie, she was preceded in death by sons Mike and Curt Hansen, and son-in-law Mark Thompson. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Friday, December 16, 2022 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm Friday in the funeral home with burial to follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pet Refuge ABC Clinic, 4626 S. Burnett Drive, South Bend, or Bremen VFW Post 8972/American Legion Post 191, 1750 W. Plymouth Street.
