Fern Ellen Sherk, 92, of Bremen, passed away at 8:07 am, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. Fern was born on June 3, 1926 in Madison Township to Clayton and Laura (Perry) Hummel. On August 1, 1947, she married Paul “Tubby” Sherk. He passed away on March 11, 2016. Fern is survived by a daughter, Diana (James) Pecsi of Nappanee; granddaughter, Roxanne (Keith) Miller of Bremen and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Paul. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Elvin Hummel. Fern retired from the Fulton/Marshall Co. CO-OP. She was a member of the Bremen United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved to attend Hit and Miss Engine Shows and enjoyed sewing, gardening, snowmobiling and spending time with her family. Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 30, 2018 in the Bremen United Methodist Church, 302 Plymouth St., Bremen, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Chuck Krieg will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Bremen United Methodist Church, 302 Plymouth St., Bremen, IN 46506 or to the Bremen V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, 1750 W. Plymouth St., Bremen, IN 46506.
