Ida Jean Lashbrook

Ida Jean Lashbrook, 96, of Bremen passed away peacefully at 1:05 pm, Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Waterford Crossing of Goshen.  Jean was born on June 10, 1928 in Brownstown, IN to the late Ralph and Cecile (Bender) Denny.  On March 4, 1949, she married Herbert A. Lashbrook.  He passed away in October of 1968. Jean is survived by three children: Jan (Jeff) Campbell of Bremen, Carol (Keith) Young of Bremen and Jim (Kristi Rhoades) Lashbrook of Warsaw; six grandchildren: Sara, Adam, Dean, Erin, Lauren and Taylor; and eight great grandchildren: Victoria, Pamela, Summer, Alex, Oscar, Connor, Crew and Baker.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren, Joshua, Corey and Jason and five siblings, Harry Lee, Helen June, Mary Jane, Charles Wilburn and Dale Odell. Jean earned her Master’s degree in education from Ball State University.  She taught home economics for the former West High School in Plymouth and then taught 25 years as an elementary teacher at Bremen Community Schools.  She was a founding member of Horizon Church and a member of Tri Kappa and ISTA.  She was an avid bridge player. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday in the funeral home.  Pastor Jim Morse will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation, P.O. Box 776, Carmel, IN 46032.
