J. Guadalupe Contreras Basquez

Guadalupe “Lupe” Contreras Basques, 77, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord at his home, surrounded by his beloved wife and children. Guadalupe was born in San Nicolas De Las Flores in 1945 to Juanita Vasquez and Tirzo Contreras. In 1980, Lupe married Barbarita Jimenez whom he dearly loved. His greatest joys included riding horses, farming, and traveling to his birthplace. He was met by his parents, daughter Maria Concepcion, and brother Vicente Contreras. He is survived by five children; Guadalupe (Miriah) Contreras Jr., Gustavo (Esthela) Contreras, Brenda (Gustavo) Gonzalez, Octavio (Amanda) Contreras, Miguel Contreras, six siblings, and eleven grandchildren. “And I will live for the Lord: my descendants will serve you” (Psalm 22). Guadalupe was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bremen.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, November 4, 2022, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at St. Dominic Church, 803 W Bike St in Bremen, Indiana on Saturday, November 5, 2022 with visitation scheduled for one hour prior to 10:00 am mass. “The Lord is my shepherd there is nothing I lack; Indeed, goodness and mercy will pursue me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the Lord for endless days” (Psalm 23).
