Jesus V. Contreras

Jesus Contreras, 80, of Bremen, passed away at 9:50 am, Thursday, October 31, 2024. After several years of declining health, he died peacefully with his beloved son Pablo Contreras by his side. Jesus was born in Jalisco, Mexico on February 19, 1944, to his mother and father Juanita Vasquez and Tirso Contreras. Being the oldest son, he took on responsibilities working on his family farm from a young age. Later on in 1966 he met Petra Loera and they married within 10 months. They introduced their first son, Pablo Contreras, in 1968 and then their twin daughters, Consuelo and Rosa-Elena Contreras, 3 years later. Jesus and Petra raised their family in San Nicolas de las Flores where they too demonstrated a strong work ethic and desire to take care of their family. Jesus migrated to the United States in 1970 to provide a better future for his family. He worked several jobs, one being in construction. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Friday November 8, 2024 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, Saturday November 9, 2024 with an hour of visitation before at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen, followed by a graveside service in Bremen Cemetery.
