James Ellis Brown, 68, of Bremen passed away at 2:10 pm, Monday, October 4, 2021 in Memorial Hospital. Jim was born on December 12, 1952 in Bremen to James L. and Phyllis (Reed) Brown. On June 27, 1970, he married Maryln Pohybko. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Maryln; son, JB (Lisa) Brown of Bremen and grandchildren, Jordan Brown and Ryan Topper. He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Brown of Plymouth and three sisters, Trudy (Al) Pijut of Argos, Cindy (Chet) Piechowiak of Daytona Beach, FL., Jody Brown of Plymouth and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his father, James L. Brown. James E. Brown (JEB) was dedicated to perfection and will be leaving a large void on this earth. JEB enjoyed his time with family and touring the world with his wife, Maryln, doing photography for rock concerts. He had a large passion for firearms, both competitively and recreationally. James was a true “Range Master” being a stickler for firearm safety and thoroughly enjoyed teaching as many people as he could how to shoot. For the last 44 years James built his career and carried on the family legacy in many foundry roles, most recently serving as Chairman of the Board of BCI Solutions, Inc. James knew the importance of community involvement and could often be found donating his time to the American Red Cross, the Illiana Search and Rescue team, multiple local law enforcement departments and church security teams. James had many accomplishments in his life, but the biggest was prioritizing and being an expert on his family. Visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 PM, Monday, October 11, 2021 in Community Gospel Church, 68893 IN 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in the church with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Jordan Muck will officiate. A private family burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Northern Indiana American Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/local/indiana/ways-to-donate.html or The Illiana Search and Rescue, 903 Joliet St. #233, Dyer, IN 46311
