Janet Ruth Stuntz, 79, of Bremen, IN, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 23, 2025, in South Bend, IN. She was born on April 14, 1946, to Waneta Ruth (Houser) and John Harrison Klinefelter, Sr. Janet grew up in Etna Green and graduated from Triton High School in 1964. On September 30, 1967, in the Etna Green Methodist Church, she married Gary Allen Stuntz. Gary was enlisted in the Army and stationed at Ft. Bragg, where they welcomed their son Tate in 1968. Janet and Tate returned to Bremen and lived with Gary’s parents while Gary was serving in the Vietnam War. After Gary returned in 1972, they made plans to build their dream home and welcomed their daughter Tara. She attended Patricia Stevens Modeling and Charm school in Chicago after high school. She also took business classes and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for TV Time Popcorn and other local businesses during her career. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and explored many hobbies during her life including reading, ceramics, crochet, and latch hook rugs. After retirement, Janet enjoyed volunteering at her church and attending the many school and sporting events of her grandchildren. Janet was always willing to help take her grandchildren to appointments and any extra-curricular activities. Survivors include her son: Tate (Amy) Stuntz of Noblesville, her daughter: Tara (Clint) Town of Plymouth, her brothers: Jeff Klinefelter and Jim Klinefelter of Etna Green, sister-in-law: Suzy (John) Klinefelter, brother- in-law: Glenn Stuntz of Florida and her eight grandchildren: Allen, Julia, Mykenzie, Randal, Payton, Jocelynn, Colton, and Samantha. Janet is preceded in death by her parents: John and Waneta Klinefelter, her husband: Gary Stuntz, brother: John Klinefelter and Gary’s parents: Howard and June Stuntz. Services will be held at 11:oo am, Friday, July 11, 2025, at Bremen United Methodist Church, 302 W. Plymouth St, Bremen. Pastor Becky L. Baker will officiate. A burial service for family members will be held at the cemetery in Bremen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside United Methodist Church, 5952 5th Rd., Bremen, IN 46506.
