Janice Sue Johnson, 66, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 6:45 pm, April 8, 2018 in Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson. Janice was born on December 15, 1951, the daughter of Everett and Vivian (Hammaker) Huff. On October 25, 2003, she married Samuel Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Sam of Bremen; two sons, Eric (Kelly) Thornton of Bremen and Brad (Tara) Thornton of Bremen; step daughter, Jana (Barron) Grabarek; six grandchildren, Caleb (Samantha Holmes) Smith of Nappanee, Ericca (Patrick Hughes) Thornton of Bremen, Curtis Thornton of Anchorage, AL, Clayton Thornton of Bremen and Hudson (Dania Alvarado) Thornton of California and Zarah Grabarek; and two great grandchildren, Brantley Thornton and Paisley Schidler. She is also survived by her mother, Vivian (Gene Watkins) Huff of Plymouth, two sisters, Cheryl Slusser of Savannah, GA and Sandy Muffley of Bremen; and one brother, Steve (Shelley) Huff of North Liberty; and sister-in-law Mel Huff. She is preceded in death by her father, Everett Huff, brother, Tom Huff and brother in law, Steve Muffley. Janice was a member of Bremen Missionary Church and a member of the Psi Iota Xi of Nappanee. She was known by many family members as their own Martha Stewart. She was great in the kitchen and enjoyed knitting, scrapbooking, and arts and crafts, but her biggest joy was her grandchildren. The family will be gathering from 5:00-8:00 pm, Friday, April 13, 2018 in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Road, Bremen, where they will be receiving friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the church with an additional time for gathering from 10:00-12:00 pm prior to the service. Rev. Gary Hinkle will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial donations be made to the Huntington’s disease Society of America, Indiana Chapter, P.O. Box 2101, Indianapolis, IN 46206.
