Jeanette P. Johnson

Jeanette Pearl Johnson, 101, of Mishawaka, went to be with the Lord at 12:45 pm, Monday, May 20, 2024 in Creekside Village Senior Care.  Jeanette was born on July 30, 1922 in Wolcott, IN, the daughter of the late Andrew and Clara (Stoller) Winger.  She married David O. Johnson.  She met Dave at an open-air skating rink in Mishawaka when still in high school.  He was there to watch and saw his future bride to be.  They were married on May 30, 1941.  She was a beautiful Memorial Day bride.  This next weekend would be 83 years together.  There motto would be, Look at Us, from being young and in love, playing in the sand at Tower Hill, to Dave waiting on the far side of Jordan, drawing pictures in the sand and running through the shallow waters reaching for her hand as he sees her reaching the shores of Heaven. We are celebrating with them.  She was a meat wrapper, but mostly a wife and mother. Family was her main interest.  Jeanette was a member of Bremen Bible Church along with Dave.  They taught their family to also love and serve God in that church.  She is finally where she wants to be. She is survived by two children: Ron (Connie) Johnson of Syracuse and Sue (Rich) Grewe of Mishawaka; five grandchildren: Steve (Bridget) Johnson, Pam (Louis) Gerber, Shelly (Mark) Essig, Kevin (Jami) Grewe and Stacy (Jake) Fillmore.  She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: Donald Winger and Aldene Winger. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:30 pm, Friday, May 24, 2024 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen.  Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm Friday in the funeral home with her grandson, Steve Johnson, officiating.  Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
