Jeffrey D. Stayton

Jeffery Dean Stayton, age 60, of Bremen passed away June 23, 2026. He was born August 20, 1965, in Bremen, IN to the late John Stayton and Betty (Luse) Stayton. He was preceded in death by both his parents. Jeff was a 1984 graduate of Bremen High School. Immediately after graduation he served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a TM3/SS onboard the submarine, USS George C. Marshall, in Groton, CT and Holy Loch, Scotland from 1984 until 1988. After leaving the Navy, Jeff worked for General Dynamics, Electric Boat in Groton, CT as a Machinist for many years. His favorite pastimes were fishing at his brother’s lake house, playing computer games, and watching Sci-fi movies. He is survived by his three siblings, Sue A. (Paul) Wierbonics of Apollo Beach, FL, John D. (Laura) Stayton of Bourbon, and Diane K. (Dean) Sherk of Lakeville, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service officiated by Rev. Neil Wonnacott will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S Center St., Bremen IN 46506. The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.
