Jerry Dwight Gaddis, 76, of Bremen, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 26, 2024. Jerry was born November 20, 1948 in Arkansas to Hutty Gaddis and Lillian (Breckenridge) Gaddis. He was raised in Walkerton, Indiana and graduated from Walkerton High School in 1966. Jerry retired after a 42-year career as a Machine Operator at Indiana Carton in Bremen in 2010. An avid Notre Dame football fan, Jerry volunteered as a football stadium usher for 12 seasons. He spent many years playing bass guitar and singing in a variety of country and rock bands. Many Friday and Saturday nights, Jerry could be found at a local VFW or American Legion listening to bands and enjoying time with friends. He was also a lifelong motorcycle rider who loved his Honda Gold Wing “Mellow Yellow”. He took countless motorcycle trips around the Midwest and one pilgrimage to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Remaining to cherish Jerry’s memory are sons: Jared (Meredith Jones) Gaddis and Jordan (Cassie) Gaddis; grandchildren: Liam Gaddis, Logan Gaddis, Finch Gaddis, and Keagen Gaddis; sister: Pat (Chuck) Wrigley, and girlfriend Virginia Bottorff. Jerry is also survived by ex-wife Jennifer Gaddis. He was preceded in death by longtime partner Pat Davis; sister Shirley “Sue” (Duane) Drake; brother HL “Red” Gaddis; and his parents. His friends and family greatly miss his sense of humor, unwavering support, affection; and charm. He was easy going and loved talking to everyone who crossed his path. We will forever smile when thinking of Jerry’s refusal to use a cell phone, his methodical organization, and his deep love for his family. A memorial service to honor Jerry will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. A private burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jerry’s name may be directed to ABATE or the American Legion Post 357.
