John "Jack" Sime

John "Jack" Sime, 93, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Bremen, passed away on July 9, 2021. Jack was born January 29, 1928, the son of the late James and Georgina Sime. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Joyce (Swartz) Sime; son, Randy (Marsha) Sime; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Balsley; four grandchildren, Ann (Matt) Webster, Kate (Mitch) Moldovan, AJ (Sarah) Sime, Ben Sime and 7 great grandchildren; Jack, Sam, Brynn, Beau, Roman, Conrad, and Max. Jack was preceded in death by his sisters, May Wise, Betty Judd and Barb Vance. Jack graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1945. He enlisted in the Navy and then returned to Indiana to join the Indiana State Police. He retired from the State Police in 1974 to run and be elected as Marshall County Sheriff. After serving two terms as sheriff he and Joyce went on "paid" vacations delivering motor homes across the country. Jack was an original member of the Bremen Lions Club. He also was a member of Bremen United Church of Christ and a Free Mason. Jack was a devoted grandpa and great grandpa. He loved sharing stories about his family. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm. Sunday, July 18, 2021in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. A Memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice Hope Pace, 2668 Winkler Ave Ft Myers FL 33905 or Bremen United Church of Christ.
