Katherine “Kathy” Louise Adams 78 of Bourbon, Indiana passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026 in Plymouth Indiana. Kathy was born July 28, 1947 in Elkhart, IN. She was the daughter of Frances and Helen (Hill) Freel. Her parents and brother, Dennis Freel preceded her in death.

On December 20, 1975 she married Carl “Bud” Adams Jr. in Plymouth Indiana. Together, Bud and Kathy owned and operated Edgewood Electric on the Northside of Plymouth for many years. Bud preceded her in death on March 27, 2008

Kathy is survived by her daughters LeeAnn (Jerry) Hapner of Koontz Lake, Laurie (Kevin) Reiter of Anderson, IN and Debra Adams Johnson of Bremen; brothers James Freel South Bend & Michael Freel Bremen, IN.

Kathy is also survived by 11 grandchildren Ronnie Hapner ( Karlee), Terry Hapner (Andrew),

Kevin Hapner & Jake Hapner; Nathan Reiter, Aaron Reiter Ben Reiter; Devin Johnson (Kalie), Collin Johnson (Destanie), Madelynn Johnson & Mason Johnson. She is also survived by 4 Great-grandchildren Ryatt, Nash, Lilly & Delilah.

Kathy loved to cook for her family and friends and keep countless recipes and recipe books. She loved to spend time with her family, in particular her grandkids. Kathy attended Cornerstone Church in Lapaz for several years, until her health and moving to Bourbon made it difficult to do so.

Kathy resided at the Bourbon Court Apartments for several years and made many friends over the course of the years she spent there.

Per Kathy’s request no public services will be held. The family is planning a private celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or Marshall County Humane Society.
