Martha Edel

Martha K. Edel, 88, of Goshen, formerly of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 5:20 pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in Greencroft Healthcare of Goshen.  Martha was born on May 11, 1929, the daughter of the late Noble and Hazel (Berger) Nusbaum.  She married Lawrence Edel in 1947 and he passed away on March 17, 2000. Martha graduated from Bremen High School in 1947.  She worked for the Bremen Public School Corporation as the School Treasurer for over 28 years before her retirement.  She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Bremen, Progress Club, Mother’s Club and the P.E.O.  Martha loved and appreciated music.  She had a beautiful soprano singing voice and sang for many events, including the church choir. She is survived by daughter, Anne E. Edel of Goshen and sister, Janet Pittman of Kansas.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Dr. John L. Edel, and brother, Alan David Nusbaum. There will be no services at this time.  Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen is handling arrangements.
