Martha Ann Monhaut, 89, of Bremen, passed away at 1:08 am, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. Martha was born on September 29, 1928 in Mishawaka, the daughter of the late Calvin M. and Freda E. (Ewald) Hochstetler. On February 24, 1949, she married Joseph F. Monhaut. He passed away on July 29, 1988. Martha is survived by six children; David Monhaut of Bremen, Louise (Larry) Keck of Bremen, Thomas (Elaine) Monhaut of Bremen, Philip (Maria) Monhaut of Tulsa, OK, Loretta (Pastor Roger) Rohde of Bremen and William Monhaut of Mishawaka. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Martha was a devoted member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, where she played the organ for 50 years. She earned her degree from the International Business College of Ft. Wayne and volunteered her time with the Red Cross. She was part of the Community Hospital of Bremen Auxiliary and worked in the gift shop. Martha loved reading, crocheting and working at the computer. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am, Saturday, July 28, 2018 in St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:15 am in the church with Rev. Fernando Jimenez celebrating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen, IN 46506 or any local chapter of the American Red Cross.
