Mary Katherine “Katie” Morgan of Alexandria, VA passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Centreville, VA. Katie was born June 10, 1996, the beloved daughter of Bruce and Suzanne Morgan. She attended St. Thomas More Cathedral school and graduated from Bishop Denis J. O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA. Katie received a Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University in 2018. Katie was a manager for the Great American Restaurant company based in Fairfax, VA and was recently assigned to the Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA. She also had her own business, Wildflower Events, to pursue her passion for photography, art, interior design, traveling and events management. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, clients, colleagues, and those who knew her. Survivors include: brothers, J. Cameron of Houston, TX, Thomas P. of Alexandria; parents, Bruce and Suzanne H. of Alexandria; grandmother, Rosemary Hall of Plymouth, IN; aunts and uncles, Jodie (Booth) and Jay R. Morgan of Alexandria; Genice (Morgan) and Marcos Herrera of Arlington, VA; Mary (Hall) and Brian McCarthy of Denison, TX; Susy (Lyne) and Jake Hall of Daphne, AL; Jeanna Hall of Bremen, IN; Karen Hall of Fort Wayne, IN; Tom Hall of Fort Wayne, Kim Morgan of Falls Church, VA; cousins, Joseph and Sarah Morgan of Alexandria; Alex and Kayla Herrera of Arlington; Joey and Nikki Hall of Daphne; Rachel Hall of Mishawaka, IN; and her much-loved Welsh Corgi “Heidi.” Katie is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents J.R. “Ray” and Margaret Morgan of Newton, MA, grandfather Stewart Hall of Plymouth, IN, and cousin Jacqueline Hall of Austin, TX. The funeral and burial services were conducted at the Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, IN with Rev. Daniel Niezer officiating. Pallbearers were J. Cameron Morgan, Thomas Morgan, Jay Morgan, Marcos Herrera, Jake Hall and Brian McCarthy. A memorial service will be held on Sunday January 23 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Washington Apostolic Church, 11800 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22030. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.lovetotherescue.org.
