Merlie Sechrist

Merlie Treva Sechrist, 95, left her earthly home on Monday, September 11, 2017 to be with her husband John, who preceded her in death. Merlie was born on March 10, 1922, the daughter of John and Luella (Culp) Wise. She was married on June 21, 1977 in Bremen Missionary Church and he passed away on December 13, 2003. She left to cherish her memory four children; Linda Garey of Leesburg, Butch (Linda) Kling of Bremen, Terry (Angela) Kling of Elkhart and Judy Lawson of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, three brothers, and son-in-law, Jerry Garey. Merlie worked for Bremen Bearings for many years before her retirement. She attended Nappanee Church of the Brethren when she was able to. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and sewing. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home, with burial in Stony Point Cemetery.
