Michael Eldon Manges, 67, of Bremen passed away peacefully at 3:24 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2018 surrounded by family. Mike was born on October 21, 1950 in Bremen, the son of the late Eldon D. and Betty J. (Keyser) Manges. On April 2, 1988, he married Renee Halum. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee; two children, Alyssa Renee and Austin Michael Manges; and two sisters, Barbara Laidig and Diane (Rick) Unsicker. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Jim Laidig. Mike graduated from Bremen High School in 1969 and was the class president. He attended Iowa State and Purdue before returning home to run the family farm. Mike was a hard working grain and dairy farmer his entire life. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ. Mike was a huge Purdue fan and enjoyed attending the Indy 500 race every year and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends in his favorite spot, the shade garden. He was a devoted father and husband and will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 23, 2018 in First United Church of Christ, 323 S. Center St., Bremen, with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the First United Church of Christ Building Fund, 323 S. Center St., Bremen, IN 46506.
