Michaele Barts

Michaele Lynn Barts, age 44, passed away peacefully at midnight, Saturday, January 30, 2021. At her side, were the closest members of her loving family. This comes after a long and hard battle with stage four breast cancer. She was born in her longtime hometown of Bremen Indiana on August 7, 1976 to surviving parents Michael and Tamara (Myer) Barts. Loving the outdoors, in her youth, she participated in activities such as softball, color guard, and basketball. Later years saw her enjoy things like hiking, camping, and kayaking. It was always important that her loved ones be a major part of everything she endeavored to do. Michaele knew no strangers, especially at events such as concerts, renaissance fairs, marathons, and ballroom dancing. She often met and maintained friendships from every aspect of her life. Spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially in the family campground in Wisconsin was always a highlight. Michaele graduated from Bremen High School in 1995, after which, she attended IUSB to pursue studies in the computer field. Using these skills, she worked at Liberty Mutual for close to 18 years. Looking for a change of pace, she moved into the optical field, finding her place with Nappanee Family Eyecare. Surviving, are daughter Alexis (Mishler) Rex and Justin Rex, and daughter Rosalie Barts-Lawton; her brother Anthony Barts and Katherine (Capron) Barts; three grandchildren Zoey, Wyatt, and Penny Rex; her two nephews and three nieces Trent, Connor, Gabrielle, Grace, and Emma Barts. Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 12:00-4:00 pm at 545 S. Bowen Ave., Bremen, IN 46506.
