Nancy Ruth Widener

Nancy R. Widener, 72, of Plymouth, passed away at home on April 28, 2023 surrounded by family and dear friends. She was born in Marion, Indiana on March 23, 1951. She met her husband Francis Widener Sr.  in 1975. Nancy is survived by her husband, Francis; daughters, Mendy (Jerry) Dendy, Diana Fear of Bremen, Chandra Widener of Plymouth, Bethany (Steve) Chase of Bourbon; son Francis Paul Widener Jr. of Mooresville, IN; eleven Grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and her sister, Theresa (John) McGhee of New Jersey.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Edwin & Berniece Bailey. She had many passions in life, family and close friends were the greatest of those.  She loved gardening, was a Master Gardner and owner of the Red Barn Green House.  She was a member of the Bremen VFW Women’s Auxiliary, in which she served a term as Vice President.  Nancy enjoyed the outdoors; rainbows, sunsets, bird watching, fishing, camping with her husband and the Gypsy Rover Club. She loved animals and was once a volunteer at the Marshall County Humane Society. Over the years she adopted many dogs, spoiling them rotten!  Nancy was also very artistic, a talented wood carver and painter. Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 4, 2023 in the funeral home. Per Nancy’s request, cremation will follow. She supported VFW, St. Jude and Riley’s Children Hospital along with various women’s domestic violence groups. Th family requests contributions made to any of those in leu of flowers.
