Nina Lizzi, 88, passed away on October 24, 2026, surrounded by love. Nina married Andrew Lizzi in 1963, and together they shared nearly 41 years of marriage before his passing in 2004. She graduated from Union Mills High School in 1958. After many years of service, she retired from Homet Engine Systems of Laporte. Nina found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden, baking her famous homemade sugar cookies, and enjoying the sunshine. In her later years, she could often be found sitting in her lawn chair in the garage, enjoying the fresh air. Her sugar cookies were a family favorite and will remain a fond reminder of time spent with her. Nina also enjoyed making and painting ceramics, often sharing her creations with others. From handmade piggy banks for her grandchildren to pieces she donated, her creativity brought joy to those around her. Nina took great pride in her family and was always there to celebrate their accomplishments, both big and small. She faithfully saved memories of the milestones that mattered to them, from her son Jeff's childhood report cards to the school programs and 4-H steer show programs of her grandsons. Carefully tucked away over the years, these keepsakes were a testament to the pride she took in those she loved and the importance she placed on being part of their lives. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vida (Hockney) Layman; her brother, John Layman; her husband, Andrew Lizzi; and her son, Jeffrey Lizzi. She is survived by her three grandsons, Ryan (Christin) Lizzi, Tom (Kristen) Lizzi, and Taylor Lizzi, all of Bremen; and her great-granddaughter, Margaret Lizzi. Nina was also very close to her nieces whom she always felt more like daughters, Cindy (Charlie) Stults, Kathy (Gary) Gear, Becky (Jeff) Heign and Kelli Layman. They will cherish her memory and the traditions she leaves behind. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Friday, October 30, 2026 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen.
