Noble Welcome Hand, 99, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 2:10 am, Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in his home surrounded by family. Noble was born on April 4, 1923, the son of William E. and Mary (Schumaker) Hand. On June 27, 1943, he married D. Martha Porter. She passed away on June 13, 2018. Noble is survived by three children, Rick Hand of Bremen, Barbara Green of Bremen and Sheila Schrader of Bremen; nine grandchildren, Heather (Mark) Craft, Alison (Dan) Wilson, Tammy Fritz, Staci (Chris) Mammon, Amanda (Eric) Austin, Josh (Ashley) Fritz, Michelle (Brian) Krieter, Megan (Matt) McDougal, and Trenton (Jen) Schrader; 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Marian Sloboda of South Bend. He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Russell, William, Dale, Grace Border and Betty Bellman. Our kind and gentle father, Noble Hand, cherished our beloved mother for 75 years and fervently loved and cared for all of his family. A proud Army Veteran, he bravely served our country in World War II and another two and a half years, marching across Europe. He enjoyed horse shoe pitching, hunting, basketball, cards and all the good friends he made along the way. He will be sorely missed. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Mishler Funeral Home with two hours of memorial visitation prior to the service.
