Patti S. Stephan-Hoskins, born on May 21, 1966, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 7, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert L. and Janet L. (Ziegler) Stephan, daughter-in-law of the late Sonya Hoskins and sister to the late Mark Stephan.
Patti is survived by her devoted husband, Kyle Hoskins, and their cherished children, Peyton and Brady Hoskins. She is also the proud mother of her son, Justin (Ashley) Schreiber and beloved grandmother to her granddaughter, Aria. In addition to her immediate family, Patti leaves behind her brother, Scott (Karen) Stephan, and sister, Kathi (David) Neuman, along with her nieces and nephews, Katlynne, Andrea, Jake, and Julia and her step father-in-law Kirk Zuber.
Patti was kind, fun, and deeply passionate, with a spirit that drew people in and made them feel instantly at home. Known for her warm smile and bubbly personality, she turned acquaintances into friends and friends into family that she met along her endeavors. .
For over 35 years, Patti pursued a career in the eye care industry, most notably as the office manager of InVision Eyecare Center and ION Optical, the optometry practices founded by Patti and her husband. Patti had the uncanny ability to build extraordinary, lasting bonds with her patients. Many became friends, and all were touched by her warmth, care, and genuine interest in their lives. Her work was never just a job—it was another way she connected, served, and loved others.
A true football lover, Patti spent countless weekends enjoying Notre Dame tailgates and Irish football, where her joy, energy, and unmistakable enthusiasm were on full display. Whether cheering on the Irish or simply enjoying time together, she believed football was best experienced surrounded by the people she loved.
She will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her ability to turn ordinary moments into celebrations. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the traditions she cherished, and the love she gave so freely
Friends may spend time with Patti’s family Wednesday, January 14, from 1pm-3pm with a short service honoring her life afterward at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen Indiana. According to Patti’s wishes, cremation will follow the services and a private burial with family will take place at Bremen Cemetery at a later time.
